Why am I receiving link alarms?

Link alarms are caused when one mux polls the other mux and 1 of the 3 polls are not received in a 10 second period.
Check the link status of the synchronous / asynchronous link device, and the phone line.
If the composite link's format is set for async make sure that the EOF transmit and receive characters are set for the value " FF " .
If asynchronous is used over the composite links make sure that the link device does some form of error correction .
