- Apple has been shipping our modem scripts (loosely similar to Windows INF files) since Mac OS X 10.2. The main script for the MT5634ZBA-USB, MT5634ZBA-USB-V92, and MT5634MU modems is named "MultiTech MT5634." There is a "MultiTech MT5634 Generic" script that does not give any initialization strings so that a customer can use a terminal program to configure the modem as needed. Some terminal programs include:

* CoolTerm -- (free, Mac OS X Universal Binary)
http://freeware.the-meiers.org/

* ZOC -- ($$$, Mac OS X)

- The MT5634ZBA-USB, MT5634ZBA-USB-V92, and MT5634MU have USB CDC support built-in as does Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X 10.x so these modems don't need USB drivers installed. Mac OS X 10.2 and newer don't even need the modem script installed, but we provide the modem script on our web site for those customers who are using pre-OS X 10.2 systems. Pre-Mac OS 9 systems will also need to install the system extension (similar a Windows driver).

- The MT5634ZBA-USB, MT5634ZBA-USB-V92, and MT5634MU work equally well on Macs with PowerPC processors and Intel Processors. No "drivers" are required and the modem script is the same for both systems.
