SIM Swap Procedure on LNA7 mPower 5.2
PROBLEM: When changing the MTR-LNA7 from one SIM card to another, cellular connection can be lost. Switching SIM from AT&T to Verizon: ----------------------------------- Step 1: Remove the AT&T SIM Step 2: Insert the Verizon SIM Step 3: Factory Default either using the UI ( Administration -> Save/Restore -> Reset to Factory Default Configuration) or press and hold the reset button for 30+ seconds. Steps you can try without factory default: Step 1: Clear carrier settings. For WWAN -> Remove APN. For PPP -> Remove APN and change dial string to *99***3#. After changing hit Save & Apply Step 2: Pop the SIM out. Step 3: Go to Administration -> Debug options -> Radio Terminal -> Show and type AT+QMBNCFG="Deactivate". Wait for "OK" response. ( Try again if you don't receive "OK" response) Step 4: Unplug Power. Step 5: Pop the SIM in and power up. Switching SIM from AT&T to Verizon and then back to AT&T: --------------------------------------------------------- Step 1: Remove the AT&T SIM Step 2: Insert the Verizon SIM Step 3: Factory Default either using the UI ( Administration -> Save/Restore -> Reset to Factory Default Configuration) or press and hold the reset button for 30+ seconds. Switching SIM from Verizon (APN1) to another Verizon SIM with a different APN (APN2) : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 1: Remove the APN1 Verizon SIM Step 2: Insert the APN2 Verizon SIM Step 3: Enable ssh ( Administration -> Access Configuration -> SSH settings ) Step 4: Using a Terminal tool like Putty ssh into the device and login with username and password that you used to login to the UI. Step 5: Elevate your privileges to root by running "sudo -s". ( password is the same as the admin password that you used to login to the UI). Step 6: Use the microcom tool to run AT commands on the device. a. microcom /dev/modem_at1 b. Type "ate1" and hit enter/return ( This is to enable echo of commands you type. when you type this you might not see this being typed on the terminal program) c. Type at+qodm="dme",2,"ui" ( You should see the output +QODM: "DME",0,DM Start +QODM: "DME",0,DM End ) e. CTRL+X to exit. f. Type radio-cmd at+cgdcont? to verify your correct APN received by Over The Air(OTA) process by Verizon. ( You will be mainly focusing on +CGDCONT: 3 value) Step 7: If you had SSh disabled previously go back to Administration -> Access Configuration -> SSH settings and disable SSH to revert your SSH settings. Step 8: Restart device ( Commands -> Restart device ) After restart verify that you have a cellular connection. For all three scenarios once you have a cell connection you don't have to repeat this process if you are not swapping SIMs. If you still have issues please don't hesitate to reach out to our Technical support team at https://support.multitech.com
