Manual removal and Installation of drivers

CLEAN INSTALL FOR USB MTCBA SERIES
If the modem is listed in device manager under modems, right click and select uninstall. Do the same for the assigned COM port under Ports (Com & LPT.)

Depending on which driver you installed previously, you may have a Multitech device listed under Multi-port Serial Adapters. If you have a device listed here uninstall it.

If prompted to remove drivers during the uninstall process allow system to delete driver.

Disconnect the modem’s USB cable from PC.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following location:
C:\windows\INF\ folder

Open all OEMxx.INF using notepad (xx= number such as OEM24.inf)

Look for references in the INF file to MultiTech or Texas Instruments.

When a Multitech INF file is found delete the INF file and the corresponding numbered PNF file. Do the same for any Texas Instruments 3410 INFs.

Navigate to this location:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers

Delete any of the following files which appear:
UMPSERENUM.SYS
UMPUSBVISTA.SYS
UMPFGSM.I51
UMPFEDGE.i51
UMPFCDMA.i51
UMPUSBXP.SYS
UMPF3410.i51

Navigate to this location:
C:\Windows\System32\

Delete the following file if it exists:
WDFCOINSTALLER01005.DLL

If possible, once completed, power off computer and power back on again. (Without modem attached.)
