RESOLUTION: This is likely a FaxFinder configuration issue or a network firewall limitation.

In the FaxFinder:
1. Make sure the gateway is set to your local router
2. Make sure DNS servers are set correctly
3. SSH to the FaxFinder and 'ping google.com'
4. If #3 works, then from the FaxFinder 'ping multitech.net' (the address should resolve to 65.126.90.22, but will NOT respond to ping requests--just seeing the domain name resolve to an IP is what matters here)

If the above steps work, then the update should work. If it doesn't work, then there is something on the network (firewall?) blocking the outbound HTTP request from the FaxFinder.

If you have something like a cellular hotspot that can be connected to a router and the FaxFinder is connected to the same router, then that may be an option to bypass the broadband firewall and get the FaxFinder onto the public Internet.

If none of the above works, then create a new case on the Multi-Tech Product Support Portal (support.multitech.com).
