Commercial Pest Control

Situation:

Commercial pest management service providers need to physically check the status of every trap and bait station at a facility. This can easily be hundreds of devices per locations. After service, the technician writes a detailed service report.

Solution:

SmartWave partnered with the largest manufacturer of pest traps and bait stations, developing sensors which monitor rodent activity in the devices, and communicates status to our custom designed APP on the technician’s phone or PDA via a Bluetooth connection, allowing the technician to focus on the devices that need servicing. Reports are automatically completed and sent to the customer. The Service Company HQ can track account level detail through a custom portal. In addition to reducing labor required, service levels are improved, and report documentation is streamlined.   

Commercial Plumbing

Situation:

One of the largest OEM plumbing fixture manufacturers needed a solution to give plumbers the ability at easily adjust faucet water flow, and diagnosis problems.

Solution:

SmartWave developed sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, the APP and Portal that allows plumbers to adjust, water flow, and temperature and trouble shoot issues from their phone or PDA. SmartWave also designed a new underdeck component module which simplified installation of faucets. This module is universal, fitting most of the OEM’s faucets, providing incremental supply chain and inventory benefits.

Commercial Hand Hygiene

Situation:

Customers of a large hand hygiene manufacturer were frustrated with frequent battery changes on automatic soap and sanitizer dispensers

Solution:

Smartwave and the OEM customer developed a dispenser and refill system, utilizing a patented energy on refill solution, replacing the old “D” or “C” cell batteries with tiny button cells embedded in the refills. Dispensers also utilize an electronic key that ensures the correct refill is used in the dispenser. Battery replacement labor and disposal is eliminated, saving time and money.

Industrial Chemicals

Situation:

A large chemical manufacturer wanted to provide an environmentally responsible and cost effective replacement for a proprietary aerosol cleaner while maintaining quality control at the end user and ensuring a continued revenue stream.

Solution:

Working with the OEM and a reusable spray bottle manufacturer, Smartwave developed an electronic keying system utilizing one of our existing ASIC’s. This solution secured the revenue stream for our customer and at the same time guaranteed the end user always used the correct chemical. The system provided an average cost savings of 30% and eliminated an average of 5400 aerosol cans per site/year, resulting in less aerosol in the air and fewer cans in the waste stream.
