The Challenge

All Lines Supply, a systems integrator in electronic security systems in Citrus Heights, California, was looking for a modem to work with their unique application. "In an application like security and access control, configuration is more difficult because the connection isn't PC to PC or PC to Internet; it's PC to a security system control panel. These systems are not DOS- or Windows-based systems, which makes integration more difficult," according to Frank. All Lines Supply had trouble finding a modem that worked in their unique application.

The MultiModemII allows All Line Supply to keep installation costs down. "We have to look at how much the labor charges are for installing a product," explains Frank. Labor costs add up quickly when an installer has trouble configuring a system or the setup procedure is difficult. "The cost of the MultiModemII maybe slightly higher than other modems, but because of the ease of installation, our labor costs are dramatically lower."
