MINNEAPOLIS, FEBRUARY 5, 2007 – Multi-Tech® Systems, Inc., a leading telecommunications and data communications technology company based in suburban Minneapolis, will be exhibiting its new 802.11b wireless networking embedded modules at the DistribuTECH trade show at San Diego Convention center this week in booth number 2122. The new Wi-Fi modules are for designers needing a fast and efficient means of adding Wi-Fi connectivity to their applications.

The new SocketWireless Wi-Fi embedded modules, modelMT800SWM and MT800SWM-I, are ready-to-integrate and space-efficient (1" x 2.5") devices that are 802.11b compliant, integrate a complete TCP/IP protocol stack, and include a selectable-speed serial interface. The new 5V MT800SWM and 3.3V MT800SWM-L are RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) compliant.

Now, OEMs can easily offer connectivity options such as wired modem, Ethernet LAN, ISDN, cellular wireless, Bluetooth® and 802.11.b simply as a build-option from a single design."

The Multi-Tech SocketWireless Wi-Fi products feature 802.11b functionality, are available in 5VDC (model MT800SWM) and 3.3VDC (model MT800SWM-L) versions, are fully RoHS complaint, include a two-year warranty, and offer developer’s kits to assist in programming, testing and evaluation. The units support ad-hoc and infrastructure mode, include security using WEP, support serial interfaces DTE speeds to 230K bps, include LED driver outputs and programmable inputs/outputs, use AT commands, and include flash memory for firmware upgrading.
