New Cellular Routers for Industrial Control and Management

Multi-Tech is now shipping new cellular routers that enable secure management and control of remote devices using EDGE or CDMA wireless communications. The new RF825 series cellular-based industrial routers are part of the Multi-Tech RouteFinder® SOHO Security Appliance family. They are industrial security devices for companies that need secure M2M communication over cellular networks. Using the new RF825 routers, M2M applications can control and manage multiple devices over a single cellular connection with the added security of using Virtual Private Network (VPN) communications.

The RF825 series RouteFinder SOHO is also ideal for mobile applications or as a temporary connection during a LAN/WAN failure. The devices can be Ethernet wired or connected via an optional integrated Wi-Fi® access point.

Multi-Tech Adds Wi-Fi® Communication to the RouteFinder® SOHO Product Line

Multi-Tech introduces Wi-FiŇ communication to the RouteFinderŇ SOHO appliance product line. The new RouteFinder SOHO AP models provide secure wireless 802.11b/g high-speed wireless connectivity, ideal for the small branch office that needs secure access to the corporate LAN while providing the convenience of Wi-Fi communications. With Wi-Fi Protected Access™ 2 (WPA2), the RouteFinder SOHO security appliances offer the highest available security for wireless traffic. In addition, the appliances engage wireless firewalling to provide control over the communications between the appliances and connecting clients. In addition, it provides guests and customers with wireless Internet-only access. The RouteFinder SOHO AP models also feature one or two WAN Ethernet ports for DSL or cable broadband Internet access, secure client-to-LAN and LAN-to-LAN connectivity, and Internet firewall services for even greater flexibility and use.

New RouteFinder All-in-one Security Appliance and SOHO Models Now Shipping!

Multi-Tech's next generation RouteFinder™ all-in-one security appliances are designed to maximize network security without compromising network performance. In addition to offering an ICSA-certified Stateful Packet Inspection firewall, optional e-mail anti-virus protection and content filtering, as well as free spam filtering, the RouteFinder security appliances now boast enhanced bandwidth management and system reliability. With the RouteFinders QoS/bandwidth allocation, system administrators can set packet filter rules to help mold traffic and set preferential treatment for certain services or host IPs. The RouteFinder appliances also feature dual WAN load balancing and interface failover, allowing for two separate ISP connections to balance traffic by distributing it over the two links. In addition, if one port were to go down, the RouteFinder appliance would automatically failover to the other connection.

Lastly, to achieve high availability, the RouteFinder security appliance now offers a clustering solution, where two RouteFinder appliances act in conjunction with each other with one appliance acting as the main system providing the services and the other acting as a standby system. If the main system were to go down, it would automatically fail-over to the standby system to provide continuous availability without an interruption of service.

The new RouteFinder models are now shipping. Put them to the test today!
