The status of all Multi-Tech MT2834xxx V.34 modems has changed from generally available to near-end-of-life. The Multi-Tech V.34 modems first began shipping in 1994 and many have been in continuous service for the past decade. Unfortunately, the V.34 chipset used to build the modem has become obsolete. With a long customer history and continued run rate on these models, Multi-Tech made the decision, four years ago, to purchase a large quantity of the chipsets before they became end-of-life. Today, Multi-Tech is announcing that they have nearly exhausted the last of the chipsets and the MT2834xxx models will be available while supplies last. The replacement models cross-reference charts for the V.34 MultiModem ZDX, MultiModem II and Rackmount modem families will help current customers transition to the recommended modem for their particular application. Multi-Tech will continue to provide technical support and repair of all MT2834xxx models through the warranty period of the installed products.
